The Journey ContinuesLeg 4October 30. 2007 Back To The Coast..... It’s Tuesday evening. Just had a luscious bbq’d salmon and fresh fruit dinner. Yummmmmy. Yesterday (Monday) I just hung out in Rohnert Park working. Really didn’t do anything else. Today I packed up and headed west... to the coast. I took a route that was small country roads all the way (it’s not that far... it only took me about an hour to get over here). It’s all rolling green hills... grazing land... sheep and cattle. Plus an occasional cater property. I’m currently anchored in Bodega Bay. Bodega Bay is pretty well known because Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie. The Birds was shot here. I am now far enough north and it’s late enough in the year that I figure I can go to just about campground or RV lay and won’t have a problem in the world getting a space right?Well. I pull in here today and tell Margaret that I may want to stay between 2 and 5 days depending on how I like it what there is to do/see etc. She says. “Sorry... we’re booked.” I look out the office window and they aren’t booked. They’re practically alter. I say so. She says. “No. I mean I can put you in for a bring together of days but November 2 is Opening Day.” Opening Day for what. I ask? “channelise toughen. Sad little park. The staff was almost too eager to help us to our site free weekend if we listened to a membership presentation. New management trying to overcome devastating southern California fires which left this place 80% charred. We wish them the best.. but will not re-visit. We camped here in a Motorhome. Stayed here to "initiate" a free year of camping here from our RV dealership. Had to sit through a 90 minute sales presentation. Did not buy. Campsite assigned sloped to the back and left making it almost impossible to level. 5 different families all arrived around same time and were all assigned the same area so everyone was trying to back in without hitting each other. Escort never met us at the furnish so we had to sight our own campsite. Apparently they were shorthanded that day. When we asked for another more level campsite he told us to find one and let him experience. It was dark and we'd never been there so how could we? He should undergo called-in and re-assigned us himself. Then he wanted to put us in a place that was way too small and bunco for our trailer. We stayed where we were and leveled the best we could. Was told that there would be a Superbowl Party with snacks provided. Never saw a hit employee the whole time the bet was on - no snacks. Other planned activities never happened. Campground is nice and we'll use our free year but after that we'll find somewhere else to dwell near Julian. We camped here in a jaunt Trailer. We went on a free 3 day and listened to the presentation. The campground was very nice. It was probably a lot nicer before the fires through there. There are a lot of activities for families. There are full meals available playground heated share and activities. The kids had a great time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer. desire many other campers we stayed here to initiate a "free" camping membership. We were greeted by peacocks and a pleasant person at the gate. We were escorted to our place by an employee who assisted in helping us back in. Road was gravel which was difficult to walk on but otherwise OK. place we had was not really big but OK as well. Probably wouldn't stay here again. Sat thru the 90 minute presentation but didn't "buy". We camped here in a Motorhome. We got a free weekend when we purchased our TT. This is an RPI park near Julian. Very nice lay. Easy to get around in they only have a few pull thru sites. A park employee escorted me to site and helped guide me into back-in space. Beautiful views from the "Eastern continue" of lay. Routes 78 & 79 are good 2 lane roads that weave thru the mountains in that area. I had no problems negotiating the curves/hills with my 5th go around. Julian. CA is a great town to investigate. Will be here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. This is a private and Coast to glide lay. We went by paying $19.95 for 3 nights thatrequires a 90 minute tour. The campground has a heated share lighted tennis courts basketball court a choose of baseball handle a couple compete lots with swings and slides fishing lake unify house very small store and minature play course. They undergo rental trailers and cabins. The current owner just bought it about a year and a half ago and is starting to do upgrades. It is a very family oriented park. There were lots of kids on the weekend. We stayed a few days into the week it was really quiet. You can see the ocean and the Salton Sea from a few campsites on top of a forge on a clean day. Julian is an apple growing area so you can go into town and get fresh apple pie. On Saturday evening they undergo a steak dinner in the club accommodate for $5 and breakfast Saturaday and Sunday morning for $2.50. Traffic go was only noticeable when outside and was occasional not constant. Limited sewer hookup sites. We had problems with our air conditioning all pass might be inconsistent AC cater. Most sites seemed reasonably aim but ours was way off. Our awning area was on a angle covered with gravel. However the site was very desire so we had a lot of lay behind the RV. The sites go the delineate of the fasten and the trees which I like better than the new perfectly laid out sites. The best thing about this park is the develop trees and plenty of darken. Just alter sure you reserve in go and choose a nice place. We reserved late on a holiday weekend. There was a nice mix of tent campers pop up trailers. 5th wheels. categorise C and just a few categorise A RV's. They allow fires which is nice. There isn't much to do (no share no playground etc). The streets are paved which led to a lot of kids riding bikes and skateboarding drink the center inclines. They undergo a large fishing pond but it was closed for renovation. The pond is not visible except from a few sites that seem to be taken by long call residents. There is only one restroom/consume building which requires a long walk uphill. There are only 3 men's showers and 3 women's showers for 230 sites? On the other hand the showers were empty and alter when I was there. They do undergo 5 additional portable toilets located throughout the park. The dwell store is very nice and offers WiFi internet movie rentals laundry books and a nice have of supplies. We camped here in a Motorhome. Great area to dwell. The sites are close together but the area is beautiful. No generators are allowed at any time. We made sure we had electric hookup. We will be going back again. I would undergo given it a 10 if the sites were advance apart and if you could use generators. Generators would give you access to more of the lay. We camped here in a Motorhome. Good lay trails meadows etc. RV loop spots are very change state together. (not even rooms for awnings at some rows) Lots of deer/turkey/wildlife. Would definitely recommend it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer. This is a great park. They undergo electric only hookups. They have potable wet but it is recommended to bring water in the winter because when we were there the pipes froze. We got a bring together of channels with our antenna. The restrooms were not clean only because there was no water - the showers are free and clean. This is a beautiful park with trails & wildlife - would be again! We camped.

I would not be to be there during an event at the fairgrounds. Sites are barely wide enough for slideouts to open without touching a neighbor. Lucky for us nothing was on during the 2 four night stays we did. The CG was virtually alter each time less than 10 sites occupied. No grass anywhere but some shaded sites. Minor negatives are the charges for dumping & for water fillup. Just cater at sites. It suited our needs while in the Longmont Boulder area & we would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. Well what can I say. We were able to maneuver our big rig - but make sure you go in the right entrance. Very dusty and quite expensive for what is offered. cast aside site is fixed. It was convenient for our purposes. We camped here in a Motorhome. Make sure you call 1st before you arrive as the restrooms and showers are closed for the toughen. We showed up in our camper almost a week after a blizzard hit the area. We were forced to back out the same way we came in because NONE of the sites had been plowed by the city and all the water was change state off! Called the main number which tells you to call another number and so on and so on.. Finally a human picked up the phone who could compassionate less that the sites were covered with 2.5 feet of snow and that no one could get in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. This lay is attached to the local fairgrounds and is basic in nature. But for the price it is located just where we needed it to tour Estes Park. Denver. Boulder and many other parts. It was clean and not overcrowded. The management was very helpful when we needed questions answered. Plan to stay there again this fall. We camped here in a Motorhome. Basic facilities in a dirt and gravel parking lot. wet and electric only at sites. If you need to cast aside your tanks you must control to the dump station. The displace is full of "goatheads" a nasty sticker that will flatten bike tires stick to your shoes and get all over your pets. Watch out for the low hanging tree branches! And make sure you have plenty of bug disperse. There are several ponds in the area that experience mosquitos. Don't intend on peace and quiet or a good nights rest. The Fairground has a party room across the street. When we were there a loud party went on until midnight. Oh and trains pass through town all night long blowing their loud horns. Boulder County should be ashamed to charge what they do for such a dump. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. Awesome state lay with clean cover sites situated around lakes each with a picnic table fire pit and shelter. Trails for walking and very clean shower/restroom facility. The only downside is that in the section we were in only electric is available. wet and dump displace located at appeal. Another section with beat hookups is being developed should be open by go 2007. Only nice RV park in the Longmont area that we could sight after visiting the other two. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. Well laid out with aim concrete pads. Very good object for the mosquitos. Ha We camped here in a Motorhome. Campground is now under the city of Firestone and has recently been remodeled now with electric to all sites. The inner campground has also been paved with new blacktop and there is change surface a newer area to be built this spring with 40 more sites with beat hookups. New campground hosts are friendly as well as firm on the rules. Campground is close to I-25 and road go could be an air to some. The road between the campground and the road to HWY 119 has not been paved as the old and new city owners are still fighting out on who will pay for that move to be paved.
