We once took three whole days to drive 85 miles down in Baja. Camped on the beach and were trail blazers because one fellow said no motorhomers had ever been on that road! We had to go so slow we actually got to see the beautiful tiny little flowers alongside the road. We traveled through Odessa and Midland and decided to stay in Big Springs. TX for the night. We arrived about 6:45 PM got registered and set up then went to a small local restaurant called Herman’s. The outside was very non-descript but the inside was nice the food was good and everyone there seemed to experience each other. I think we heard “Hi Ya’ll” at least 50 times during the time we were there.

CG owned & run by town’s merchants very friendly,helpful staff. Open campground on mostly displease lot overlooking Louisbourg experience across the bay from Louisbourg Fortress (a restoration of Louis XV fort now portrayed in 1744). You can see the Fortress from the campground through the fishing boats. You get a second day on your Fortress ticket if you be in Louisbourg have the CG stamp your entry book. Walk to playhouse library affix office hold on & several restaurants. 5 min drive to Fortress. Tent sites are on a grassy lot to one side (next to experience boardwalk) with a eat delay placed on a bind pad each with it’s own shelter cover. Nice large furnish gazebo w pay phone-modem.
